After England had sailed and maundered brilliantly to earn a 275- run first- innings lead, they were frustrated by a draw that guarantees Australia can do no worse than draw the series. They will retain the Ashes anyhow of what happens in the fifth Test starting at The Oval on Wednesday.

Win- the- toss request

Before each of this summer’s Ashes Tests, there’s a coin toss to decide which platoon have the choice of fur or bowling first.

England have won the toss in all four matches to date and decided to coliseum first in the fourth Test at Old Trafford.

Australia saved by the rain

Australia retained the Ashes after the rain washed out the fourth Test with England in at the leading position at that time.
